Is responsible for consumer loan underwriting and review to ensure that all criteria and guidelines are met by working closely with consumer loan originators and loan operations. Additional emphasis on consumer lending quality control, and support for new lender training and system administration department responsibilities. Assumes responsibility for determining whether a borrower can reasonably be expected to maintain the repayment terms of a consumer loan, considering the type of collateral, sources of down payment, income, stability of income, other fixed monthly obligations, net worth and credit history
Monitors the compliance of consumer loan origination.
Ensures that loans meet credit policy guidelines and requirements
Reviews lien searches, title work, and appraisals
Reviews for completeness, all verifications and supporting documentation; verifies accuracy of information against the loan application.
Analyzes reports and audits pertinent data to the underwriting of the loan.
Interacts with the originators about the status of their credits
Acts in an advisory capacity to originators and loan operations staff on matters pertaining to consumer lending.
Works with the Compliance Department to make sure we are meeting our goals to stay compliant with our loans and uncover additional training needs.
Works with Compliance Department to interpret new or changing regulations regarding consumer lending and update policies and practices appropriately
Bachelor’s degree and 3-4 years of experience with consumer lending preferred or a combination of education and experience necessary.
