Mortgage Servicing/Post-Closing Supervisor

The Post-Closing Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the post-closing activity of the mortgage department. They will work actively to help staff meet department goals and investor requirements for all functions of the post-closing department as listed below.


  • Supervise the daily activities of assigned staff. Ensure that all functions are completed to company and investor standards and within company timing requirements.
  • Ensure that all files are processed according to MidWestOne Bank, investor and/or regulatory guidelines as required. These duties include:
    • Loan booking/disbursal and accuracy checks
    • Loan delivery to investors
    • Paid note processing
    • Construction draw/inspection process
    • QC audits – both internal and external
    • Upload to imaging system of record
    • Investor Reporting
    • Lock Desk
    • Tracking of Homeowner and flood insurance
    • And other duties as assigned
  • Complete file check backs for accuracy.
  • Ensure that loan delivery timelines are met. Monitor pipeline reports, lock expiration reports and individual loan status as necessary. Coordinate pipeline management with loan officers as required.
  • Complete and provide weekly, monthly or annual reports as required.
  • Ensure that adverse action files are dispositioned within company guidelines.
  • Work to create and maintain excellent partnerships, both internally within the mortgage department and externally within the bank.
  • Act as a point of contact for operational questions or concerns from staff.
  • Ensure that all assigned staff is trained to company standards. Training will include program and regulatory requirements, system usage and all other tasks required of the team. Help coordinate training within the group and with other departments as necessary or appropriate. Report to management progress and/or issues.
  • Serve as a technical resource. Answer questions about program requirements, regulatory requirements, software usage and other issues as necessary.
  • Interview and hire new employees as necessary according to department and company standards.
  • Complete annual performance reviews for assigned staff according to corporate guidelines and deadlines.
  • Provide counseling to employees during the year when performance or behavior is below standards.
  • Approve time off requests and payroll timesheets as required.
  • Participate in departmental projects as required.
  • Work to create a positive, supportive, and fun work environment.
  • Maintain a positive working relationship throughout MidWestOne Bank to promote effective communication.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


  • Ten years mortgage experience, strong background in conventional, government and secondary market regulations and guidelines, and working knowledge of the mortgage industry.
  • Some loan closing experience preferred.
  • Previous management and supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent communications skills - phone, personal contact and written.
