This position supports the bank’s mission by providing operational and technical administration along with providing strategic direction for retail deposit systems. Retail Platform Administration Officer will work with all areas of the bank to ensure Retail deposit system performance meets operational expectations. Primary duties include managing administration of retail deposit systems, leading and participating in projects related to retail, and maintaining vendor relationships and systems. Due to the variety of duties involved with this position, excellent time management, critical thinking, and independent decision making skills are necessary. Knowledge of the Service Associate, Personal Banker, and Operational Department positions would be beneficial. Experience with systems utilized by frontline staff is advantageous.

 

This position will include certain assigned responsibilities for one or more of the Focus Areas.

Responsibilities

  • Develops and maintains a deeper understanding of frontline retail systems and programs leveraging business line expertise to be a subject matter expert (SME) including interaction with our 3rd party platform or program provider as needed.
  • Manages the administration, maintenance, and communication relating to various retail systems.
    • Creates updates and reviews administrative procedures.
    • Conducts periodic analysis of systems functionality and use for efficiency.
    • Performs program updates, enhancements, or implementations as needed.
  • Consistently improve system usability and operational effectiveness by reviewing KPIs, leveraging product enhancements, and vendor relationships.
  • Identify gaps for improvement or expanded use cases including providing feedback or enhancement requests to the frontline retail system or program provider.
  • Collaborate and maintain communications with other departments that have retail impact.
  • Leads and participates in projects that have a retail impact focusing on improvement efforts to identify and implement efficiencies. 
  • Oversees and maintains a strong vendor relationship for various retail systems.
    • Acts as main point of contact and relationship manager.
    • Includes a periodic review of services, contract reviews annually, including at renewal, and annual security due diligence.
  • Performs retail system support by acting as a technical liaison to trouble shoot and resolve issues.
  • Maintains and updates procedures and forms to ensure compliance to regulations, laws, and efficient processes.
  • Maintains and updates internal department resources and procedures.
  • Performs various retail systems user access reviews.
  • Participates in review of frontline equipment analysis. Assisting and coordinating new, replacement or removal of equipment as needed.
  • Attends internal trainings that have a retail impact.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Focus Area

  • Develops and maintains subject matter expertise (SME) in the frontline platform systems and programs. This includes having a strong working knowledge of deposit account opening and servicing, handling teller transaction and transaction processing, branch and teller capture processing, and various other retail systems used through the course of business.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationship with vendors and retail system partners. This includes internal coordination and collaboration with respective areas within the bank such as BSA, Compliance, Deposit Operations and Information Services. 
  • Use critical thinking skills to perform analysis of retail systems and data, evaluate use cases and existing processes for efficiency improvements and independently make risk-based decisions.
  • Supports L&D with SME including participation in material preparation or review along with attending live training sessions to assist in Q&A or clarity.

Qualifications

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and related work experience.
  • 3 to 5 years of prior product delivery experience in a larger community or regional bank ($6 Billion +)
  • Banking or Financial Institution experience is preferred.
